At 4 pm at the Jacksonville hempfest I was approached by 2 uniformed officers 1 male, 1 female, the female officer asked me what was in the bugler tobacco tin which I was holding. I said that it was a tobacco tin and she asked if she could see inside. I said no, and she said that I should show her right now. I asked if she had a warrant and stated that I do not consent to searches of my person or property without a warrant. She said that if I did not show her what was in the tin she would arrest me. I said that it sounds to me like you want to arrest me no matter what. I decided that if a tobacco tin could get me arrested, it deserved to be in the trash, so I poured my tobacco tin into the garbage can. This was an action that I believed would save me from whatever danger may lurk in the Bugler tobacco tin. As soon as I had disposed of the danger, another danger arose. The officers attacked me. They didn’t say I was under arrest. This confused me, for I was under the impression that I would always be informed that I was under arrest before hands were laid upon my person. I assumed I was being kidnapped, and they may not be real police officers. My initial reaction was to back up, but apparently backing up is not allowed in Jacksonville Fla., for as soon as I began backing up I was tackled from behind and put into a choke hold. This made it very hard to breathe so I tried to pull the arm that was choking me away from my neck and restore my air flow, then suddenly I was thrown to the ground and someone had my right arm and left arm twisted behind my back, as I fell I felt my knee cap snap and I yelled at the attackers “OH MY GOD you’ve broken my leg”, the pain was excruciating, I believed that I would probably never walk right again, then I feel the handcuffs being snapped onto my wrist and they are so tight that I think the wrist bone is cracking on my right hand. Then the strangest thing happened, a hand came up in front of my face and it had a small plastic looking device in it, the device opened up and it appeared to be a digital camera. I began to wonder why they would take a picture of me so close up, but then the device made a hissing noise and I realized it was mace being sprayed at my face, luckily my glasses blocked a direct shot to my eyes, so I closed them as tight as I could to keep the spray from going into the delicate part of my eyes, but the guy who sprayed me wasn’t happy with what he had done, for I felt my glasses get lifted up and a direct blast of mace was sprayed directly into my eyes. Now I am in terrible pain, with my broken leg, and it is still hard to breathe with the choke hold, and the mace is gagging me and my nose began running and I began to feel like I was about to pass in to the world of spirits, I could hear the crowd yelling for an ambulance and I honestly cannot remember how much time passed before they arrived. I had my eyes closed the entire time until I was put into the ambulance where the mace began wearing off; this is where I met a large officer with no hair and wearing earrings. He began questioning me about the event that just took place I told him that I couldn’t answer any questions without my lawyer present and he told me that my injuries were not that serious “right now”, I interpreted this to mean that I would be physically damaged even more if I did not talk to him. So I talked to him and answered “I don’t know” for every question because I didn’t know what his intentions were. Then he made his intentions clear when he said that it would be bad if my leg was actually broken, so I answered his questions from a third person perspective, and he didn’t seem to mind, or he couldn’t tell, I don’t know which. I treated the rest of my kidnapping as a prisoner of war, and cooperated with the detaining officials. I was courteous and responsive to all the commands given to me. I was able to phone family and arrange for ransom to be raised even though I was informed by the kidnappers that they would not know the ransom amount until 9:00AM the next morning. At around 9:00AM I was taken in front of a man who told me about my constitutional rights and said that he found probable cause to set my ransom at $15,000. I was then taken back to my cell where I called my family and they said they would have my ransom paid soon and I could go home. I thanked god for my eventual release into the America that he blessed, and asked him to forgive my kidnappers custodians, for they knew not what they were doing
